Mystery Animal #21: Wibari

My closest living relative is an elephant
But things aren't always as they seem
I have very long, curved front fangs like a vampire
But things aren't always as they seem
I can whistle like a bird, bark like a dog, and howl like a wolf
But things aren't always as they seem

I'm rather plump with a rounded head, something like a rabbit
But looks can be deceiving
I have squat legs and no visible tail, something like a baboon
But looks can be deceiving
Here's a good clue, if you get a close view, I most resemble a woodchuck
But looks can be deceiving

I have bristled footpads for climbing on rocks, so I'm sort of like a mountain goat
Still, don't judge a book by its cover
I have fluffy fur people use to make blankets, so I'm sort of like llama
Still, don't judge a book by its cover
I live in rocks and caves and hide in their crevices, so I'm sort of like a bat
Still don't judge a book by its cover

Some call me the rock rabbit
But what's in a name?
Some, like the leopard, eagle and python, call me 'Dinner'
But what's in a name?
Some call me a dassie or a coney
But what's in a name?

I am a rock-dwelling vegetarian of the order Hyraoidea
So who am I?  Have you any idea?
I am wibari, the _____________.
