Waved Albatross
In the air I'm graceful, but on the ground
I'm cute. Flying is second nature to me. In fact, I can spend years at sea without
touching land. On my wings, I soar and circle and float and swoop, like an aerial
ballerina. But when it's time to nest, I choose a partner and dance on my feet,
more like a salsa or a merengue with a few original choreographic twists. We
click and make circles with our bills; we sway and strike a pose; we bow then
stand erect: we honk and whistle. Care to dance?
